The Council was established by the United Nations General Assembly on 15 March 2006 The Council works closely with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR)
The United Nations Human Rights Council is a United Nations body whose mission is to promote and protect human rights around the world. The Council has 47 members elected for staggered three-year terms on a regional group basis. The headquarters of the Council is in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Council investigates allegations of breaches of human rights in United Nations member states, and addresses thematic human rights issues such as freedom of association and assembly, freedom of expression, freedom of belief and religion, women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights and the rights of racial and ethnic minorities.

Garima is currently conducting Freelance training for public speaking, diplomacy and research analysis with different students in various cities and is very pleased to be the chairperson of United Nations Human Rights Council.
Garima is the President at project CLAP for SDG-4 and vice president at AUD DEBSOC.
She is also a freelance trainer and teachers and is a teacher at the SK Children’s Foundation (NGO) . She also works as a volunteer tutor and counsellor at visionaries( for visually impaired students) and in online campaign to spread awareness regarding the topics PCOD, PCOS Mental health and other social issues.
Nandini Singhal is a 3rd year law student pursuing BALLB(H) from Amity Law school noida.
She has been actively participating in MUNs from couple of years in various capacities of an executive board member, secretariat and organizing committee.
Having immense interest in International relations and law, she enthusiastically runs UN committees. Believing that life is a roller coaster she tries to keep herself and people around her motivated. She conducts her committee with the perspective of learning and growth for all.
