Greetings Dearest Delegates and Faculty Members,

This year, as we approach our school's dodransbicentennial anniversary, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the fifth edition of SNAMUN. This year we tend to learn and grow stronger from previous sessions while also upholding the legacy of this prestigious school in general and the Model United Nations in particular.

In December 2019, the entire world braced itself for a pandemic, resulting in one of the world's worst humanitarian crises ever. As normal life came to a halt, instances of humanity fighting for oxygen became the new normal for our eyes. Then, for the past two years, we've been forced to migrate from an offline world to a digital environment, which has brought with it a slew of new challenges to people all over the world, prompting us to move to an online format. The previous two years have been full of effort, sacrifice, and pain, but we must not forget that the pandemic has aggravated many social and economic concerns around the world.

We believe that delegates attending the conference this year will not only be able to relive memories of offline conferences that were cancelled due to the pandemic but will also have the opportunity to hone their debate skills. We hope that the diverse nature of the committees while discussing topics ranging from inequalities faced by backward societies to the attainment of sustainable development goals, will not only help a beginner better understand the seriousness of such issues but will also provide seasoned delegates with an enthusiastically challenging experience. This aim remains our primary motivator for this year's simulation of five unique committees, in which we want to host some of the highest-quality debates, supported by rigorous research and critical faculties.

SNAMUN is not only a conference that will benefit you academically by allowing you to expand your knowledge and apply it in engaging debates, but it is also an opportunity for you to meet new people and create unforgettable memories, and I believe we are fortunate enough to be the one who thinks of the possible solutions, and I have no doubt that you will all give it your all in each debate. MUN experiences teach participants how their actions and words are important, even if they think they're insignificant.

While serving as the Director-General of Sanawar Model United Nations, I, Aditya Das, would like to express our gratitude once more, as well as reaffirm that the entire secretariat will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that this year's conference meets the highest standards and demonstrates our nation's growing coexistence. I am confident that this experience will give you a good sense of the key mechanisms that underpin the United Nations and other international entities, and I hope that it will reinforce your love for collaboration, consensus, and teamwork that you already have. Don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! As you take this incredible opportunity to participate in one of the best MUN conferences on the circuit, prepare and embolden yourself to engage in world-changing arguments.

Regards,

Aditya Das,

Director-General
