Director General

Greetings Delegates and Faculty Members,

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to SNAMUN 2021 as the Director-General of the 4th edition of SANAWAR Model United Nations. The theme of this year’s MUN is “Non Progredi Est Regredi,” Latin for “To not go forward is to go backward.”In the struggling times of the Covid 19 pandemic, things were brought to a standstill with great looming anxiety of the future on our heads but we persevered through it. Progress is made only by moving forward even if it is bit by bit. We bring the opportunity of SNAMUN as a chance to keep progressing our abilities of debate, deliberation and diplomacy.

International politics keeps moving its cycle in law, war and diplomacy no matter the challenges and we must do the same. Due to Covid 19 we will not be able to host you on our beautiful 174 years old campus but we wish to make sure that all delegates don’t miss out the best of debates and fast paced diplomacy. This year we bring to the MUN an exact scenario of the most testing times that humanity faces from the fall of the Iron curtain in 1991 to the economic and social fallout of the Covid 19 crisis, and the ability to prevent these crisis and future ones as world leader’s representative of the people who though stand in divisions of gender, caste, creed and religion, language and country but are united in the spirit called humanity. We wish to make sure that in spite of these divisions progress is not stopped.

In conclusion, I would like to quote Cesar Chavez for this “We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community... Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.”

With Warm Regards

Mannic Ahluwalia
